L.A. Shows are Cool at Dawn
acrylic and silkscreen on linen
36 x 48 inches
A pun taken from Duchamp, mediated through the style of Ruscha, this is the first in a series of four paintings of the same underlying image, each glazed in different seasonal colorations. Skyscrapers aren't haystacks, but the same image can look substantially different with different colors, and the repeated variation honors the subtle imperfections of manual execution.
